An atmospheric 1924 oil on canvas by German artist Richard Hendorf (1861–1939). Titled Bridge in Winter, the painting depicts a Berlin street and bridge scene, with figures moving among the surrounding architecture beneath a muted winter sky. Hendorf’s loose, expressive brushwork and subdued palette are punctuated by small areas of warmer color throughout the composition.
Signed and dated R. Hendorf 1924 lower right. The reverse retains period inscriptions as well as an older identification label naming the artist, title, date, and German School attribution. An Alex Cooper auction label is also present.
Presented in an antique gilt frame showing age-appropriate wear, losses, and patination.
