Have a piece you’ve always wanted to know more about? A Professional Evaluation is a photo-based evaluation designed to give you a better understanding of your item and its potential value.

Your evaluation will include my professional opinion regarding the item’s approximate age and origin, materials or medium, relevant observations, and estimated Fair Market Value, based on the photographs and information provided.

Professional Evaluations are released in a limited quantity each month. Once the monthly release has been claimed, the service will close until the following month.

Each Professional Evaluation covers one item. If you have multiple items you would like evaluated, please purchase the corresponding quantity.

After purchasing

Please email your photographs and information to madeline@heritagehavenantiques.com and include the name used to place your order or your order number so I can match your submission to your purchase.

For the best evaluation possible, please include:

• Clear photographs of the front and back of the entire item
• Several close-up photographs, including details of the surface, construction, materials, hardware, frame, etc., where applicable
• Clear photographs of any signatures, labels, stamps, inscriptions, maker’s marks, or other identifying information
• The item’s overall measurements
• Any known information about the item, including where or when it was acquired, family history, previous ownership, conservation documentation, if available

Please do not worry if you do not know anything about your piece. That’s what the evaluation is for. Simply send the clearest photographs and measurements you can provide.

Professional Evaluations are photo-based and informal in nature. They are not formal written appraisal reports and are not intended for insurance coverage, estate settlement, equitable distribution/divorce, charitable donation, tax purposes, or other assignments requiring a formal appraisal.

A Professional Evaluation is also not an authentication or guarantee of authorship, age, origin, or value. Conclusions are based on the photographs and information available at the time of evaluation and may be limited by what can reasonably be determined without physical examination.
