American oil on canvas depicting a New England homestead with farmhouse, barn, picket fencing, and mature trees. Likely dating to the late 19th or early 20th century. The painting possesses a quiet, atmospheric quality and appears to portray a specific family property rather than an imagined rural scene.

Of particular interest are the handwritten notes preserved on the reverse identifying the home and its occupants. The inscriptions reference Philip Plymire and Effie Rice establishing their household following their marriage in 1882 and note that Leo and Margaret Parrett were born in the house. Additional notes provide location information and directions to the property. The painting also retains estate and auction provenance labels from the Estate of Dalia Zikas of Melrose, Massachusetts.

A compelling blend of folk art, local history, and family provenance presented in a later gilt frame.

Canvas approximately 16 x 20 inches. Framed approximately 20 x 24 inches.
