Late 19th-century American oil on canvas depicting a rural harvest scene with a horse-drawn hay wagon, figures, and an expansive agricultural landscape. Signed lower right “A. Lee.” The composition captures a traditional farming moment rendered in warm earth tones and atmospheric light, characteristic of rural genre painting of the period.
Presented in an ornate period gilt frame that complements the painting’s Americana character. The canvas displays age-appropriate craquelure, surface wear, and evidence of old restoration consistent with its age. A classic example of late 19th-century agricultural artwork with strong decorative appeal.
There is historic mold spotting visible on the reverse of the canvas. The reverse has been lightly treated with isopropyl alcohol as a precaution; however, the spotting remains visible and should be considered part of the condition. The frame exhibits expected wear including minor losses and surface wear to the gilding.
Canvas approximately 10 x 13 inches. Framed approximately 15 x 18 inches.
