An elegant antique French Limoges porcelain jardinière, richly hand painted with large purple irises and trailing foliage against an ivory ground. The vessel is finished with extensive gilt decoration, including sculptural foliate handles, scrolling feet, and a softly mottled gilt border around the rim.
The rounded body and exuberant Art Nouveau-influenced floral decoration make this a particularly striking example of decorative Limoges porcelain. Raised on four scrolling feet and finished with an impressed mark to the underside.
Acquired from an auction where it was catalogued as an antique hand-painted Limoges jardinière.
Measures approximately 6 7/8 inches high x 7 1/2 inches diameter at the upper rim, excluding handles.
Very good antique condition with age-appropriate wear to the gilding and decoration.
