Beautiful antique British sterling silver vesta case or match safe, dating to the late Victorian or Edwardian period.
The small rounded case features fine vertical engine-turned line decoration with a circular cartouche engraved with an elaborate period monogram. A suspension ring is fitted to the side, while the underside incorporates the original ribbed match-striking surface.
The hinged lid opens to reveal a series of British silver hallmarks, with additional partial marks struck on the lid.
Measures approximately 1¾ inches high × 1⅛ inches wide.
Antique condition with surface wear, scratches, tarnish and patina consistent with age and use. Hinge and lid remain present and functional. Please review photographs closely for the hallmarks and exact condition.
