A richly decorated Bohemian ruby glass casket featuring hand-painted enamel and gilt floral ornament throughout. The rounded glass body is mounted with a brass-tone hinged collar and clasp, opening to reveal additional delicate gilt decoration along the interior.
The deep cranberry-ruby glass is embellished with scrolling blue, cream, and gold enamelwork in the ornate historicist tradition associated with Bohemian decorative glass. A clear glass spherical finial crowns the domed lid, while the vessel rests on a short circular foot.
