An elegant and uncommon mid-19th century American gilt bronze girandole garniture comprising a central three-light candelabrum and a pair of matching single-light candlesticks. Each piece is mounted on a white marble base and features an oval églomisé panel depicting romantic moonlit European landscapes, including harbor scenes and classical ruins rendered in rich cobalt blue tones.
The ornate gilt bronze mounts are adorned with engraved cut-glass prisms that catch and reflect light beautifully, creating the sparkling effect that made girandoles a favorite decorative form throughout the Victorian period. The reverse-painted glass panels provide exceptional visual interest, giving the set both sculptural presence and artistic appeal.
Whether displayed on a mantel, sideboard, or dining table, this impressive garniture offers a striking blend of fine craftsmanship and historic elegance.
