Vintage 1929 Swedish leather-bound volume of the collected writings of Esaias Tegnér (1782–1846), one of Sweden’s best-known 19th-century poets, writers, and bishops.
The original Swedish title is Samlade Skrifter, Sjätte Bandet, meaning “Collected Writings, Volume Six.” This volume is titled Kyrkliga tal, or “Church Speeches,” and contains Tegnér’s religious and ecclesiastical writings and addresses.
Published in Malmö, Sweden, in 1929 by Världslitteraturens Förlag. Bound in brown leather with decorative tooling along the spine, Tegnér’s facsimile signature stamped in gilt on the front cover, green marbled endpapers, and a bound-in ribbon marker.
Good vintage condition with expected wear from age, including rubbing and scratches to the leather and wear at the upper spine as photographed. A beautiful early 20th-century Swedish book for a literary collection, Scandinavian library, or decorative book display.
