Original antique Christian religious print dating to 1888, depicting the Christ Child surrounded by angels in a beautifully detailed black-and-white illustration.
The original caption on the reverse reads “They Watched Him With Jealous Care.” The image is signed in the plate by French artist and illustrator A. Bramtot.
This illustration originates from The Beautiful Story: A Companion Book to the Holy Bible by J. W. Buel, published in 1888, an extensively illustrated 19th-century religious volume featuring Biblical scenes and Christian imagery.
Measures approximately 10 1/2 inches tall × 8 inches wide overall.
This is an original antique printed sheet from the 1888 publication, not a modern reproduction. Currently protected in a clear sleeve. Antique condition with expected toning and age-related wear as photographed.
Beautiful piece of antique Christian and Biblical religious art featuring the Baby Jesus and angels, ideal for framing, church or home decor, or a collection of 19th-century religious prints.
