Beautiful antique French book published in Paris in 1828. This is Volume III of Mélanges historiques et littéraires by Abel-François Villemain, titled Nouveaux Mélanges.
The book features a rich red half-leather binding with elaborate gilt decoration along the spine, raised bands, and matching red boards with contrasting corner details. Inside are an engraved portrait, decorative title pages, and an old armorial bookplate.
A lovely early 19th-century French volume, equally suited to an antiquarian book collection or displayed among other antique books and decorative objects.
Condition is consistent with age, including wear to the leather and boards, rubbed corners, surface marks, and foxing and discoloration throughout portions of the interior. Please review photographs for details.
