A rare late 19th to early 20th century epergne in uranium glass, glowing a vivid yellow-green under UV light and prized among collectors for its striking color and chemistry. The three ruffled flutes graduate upward from a scrolled metal frame decorated with foliate motifs, originally intended as a centerpiece for cut flowers or feathers on a Victorian dining table. The uranium content gives the glass its distinctive chartreuse hue, which fluoresces brilliantly.
Condition: One flute has an old glued repair at the neck with a visible crack, and another flute retains a chip along a scalloped rim. Despite these flaws, all three are stable, and the piece remains highly displayable as a centerpiece of a uranium glass collection. The metal base shows light oxidation consistent with age.
Age/Origin: Likely Continental, circa 1890–1910.
