A mid-20th century sword-form letter opener stamped with the Solingen crest (anchor and crossed swords). The piece features a steel blade (strongly magnetic, with light surface rust visible at the joint where the blade meets the handle) and a heavy cast alloy handle with figural head detail. The handle rings brightly when struck, while the blade is tempered steel with a duller resonance, typical of Solingen manufacture. 8” long
Condition: Blade with age-consistent patina and light rust at the hilt junction; handle retains sharp detail with only minor oxidation. Structurally solid and highly collectible.
Origin: Solingen, Germany, c. 1930s–1940s.
