This antique French jardinière dates to the Art Nouveau period, circa 1895–1910, and features sculptural ivy and scrolling handles characteristic of the era’s naturalistic design language. The piece is cast in spelter (white metal) and bears a French “Déposé” mark to the interior, indicating a registered design.
The jardinière retains its original removable liner, confirming its intended use and enhancing both functionality and display value. The interior also bears model or foundry markings consistent with period French decorative metalwork.
A small decorative crest element along the upper rim has been professionally stabilized and restored. The repair is visually integrated and does not affect the overall structure or use of the piece. Condition otherwise reflects age and normal wear consistent with over a century of history.
