A rare 18th-century German Lutheran hymnal, printed in Marburg and Frankfurt by Heinrich Ludwig Brönner in 1783. Bound in dark brown leather with remnants of its original brass clasps, this small devotional book was designed for daily worship and communion.
The contents include Psalms and hymns by Martin Luther and others, written in Fraktur type, with sections on confession, communion, and Christian doctrine. This well-worn volume bears witness to centuries of devotional use, with signs of age including toning, staining, handwritten notes, and page wear.
Despite condition issues, it remains a fascinating historical survivor and a striking display piece of late 18th-century German religious printing.
